DIAMOND DUST
I had never had the pleasure of hearing any old "live" Little Feat until today. I just finished downloading this gig from 1973, and now I understand why people hold him in such high regard. For those of you that are not hip to Lowell, he may be the finest slide player that ever lived(sorry Duane). His singing is incredible as well. I'm in shock. Here's the link. little feat \'1973\' . It took a little while because it's a "SHN" file, but it's worth it because unlike Mp3's you loose none of the sound. But I don't have DSL so it will go much faster if you have a faster connection. I'm telling you, you must hear this show. Outstanding!!!! And if your media player wont play 'Shn' files, download this file converter and change them to wave files. It also has a killer media player with all the goodies. Enjoy!! http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ http://b-cordova.dmusic.com/
sgstrat
Yes, that's an excellent show. Lowell was a masterful slide player, an excellent songwriter and one of the very finest rock 'n roll singers ever. We lost him way too early. Now that you've discovered Feat, pick up the live album "Waiting for Columbus". It will rip your head off!
Big Red 67
I never got to see Feat with Lowell. It's a drag. Big Red's Ride Blog

AlChuck
That was a great show, I have a cassette tape of it around somewhere. The Feat is one of my all-time favorite bands. Lowell George and Billy Payne were (are, in the case of Payne) absolute geniuses. The day Lowell died was one of the saddest days in my life, on a par with the day Jaco Pastorius died. Randy Combs
I love "Sailing Shoes", great song. Lowell could say volumes with just slide fills.
Shoes
Originally posted by Big Red 67: I never got to see Feat with Lowell. It's a drag.Little Feat WAS Lowell George. He was an integral part of that sound and that off time layed back slide was a signature sound that defined all of their music. While I appreciate their attempts to reinvent the band it was missing the primordial ooze that glued them together in George's favorite gear. ... we'll get there when we get there.. I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.
