Parker joins Randall, Washburn, and Eden

Parker was purchased by US Music Corp earlier this year. I didn't realize it until I tried to get my Fly Deluxe refinished last week.

 

Until then, it was impossible to get service. But last week, I got an RA number in less than 5 minutes, and they took all my info and issued me a ticket number.

 

Sometimes, getting acquired by a company with some infrastructure has its advantages.

I'm hoping they can start factory tours - Parker is right here in Wilmington Mass. The web site now shows some address in Illinois corporate headquarters?

Yep, that's US music's headquarters. I think all of the repair techs have moved there. Washburn is in the same area (within 15 miles), as was Hamer.

IMHO, this is healthy for the industry, and ultimately the guitar player. Any one of those companies could have ultimately been squeezed out of the market or bought by the "big two".

 

This way, there's a viable, affordable and financially stable alternate to the "main stream".
