Werewolf by Night
Anyone? Anyone? I've been trying to search 'em out online, to little useful avail... I thought they (Fender) were coming out with retrofitting S-1 switching knobs (the "push/push" button in the knob deal) in styles suitable for Strats, Teles, and Les Pauls... Anyone know where and how to get 'em? It's my hope that one will work for adding a pickup in parallel to any and all existing pickup selections on a guitar. Teahead
I have discovered they're not available here in the UK yet(!) At least not as a retro-fit, you can only get the S-1 system if you buy a guitar with it already installed. I don't know how long this will be the case, but it kind of makes sense that they would keep it exclusive to the guitars for a while. Tea. southpawstrat
I think I remember reading that Fender doesn't plan on releasing the S-1 on its own for quite a while, unfortunately. LeftyBlues
Unless Fender has a patent on the switch...which I doubt, we just need to find out who their supplier is (bribe somebody in purchasing at Fender) and bingo! I just bought a Deluxe series strat and really like the extra sounds you get with the switch, so I can understand why it could become a hot aftermarket item to adapt to other guitars.
