Shannon
Okay I may be easily amused but I had a blast last night just because of some new strings. My Gibson Dove copy is my only acoustic and my first guitar... it was my mom's when she was young and she gave it to me when I was 7. The action is so high its almost impossible to play but lately I've been hankering for that acoustic sound so I got it out a couple of days ago and broke a string immediately. So I played it for a while with 5 strings and got a lot of new ideas so I had to pick up some new strings and try it again. Went to the music store yesterday.... a very dangerous adventure which requires blinders and exact change... and picked up some Ernie Ball Earthwood Light gauge. (cause I love the Super Slinkys I put on the LP) Put on the strings last night and tuned to an open G.... WHAT A DIFFERENCE.... I was in heaven.... got a workout trying to fret but it sounded so good. Just had to share
Big Red 67
Dyslexic. Is that the right spelling? Not a joke. I got the disease that you can't spell if you got it. It's funny they named it so that A dyslexic couldn't spell it. Kinda a cruel joke accually. hehehe Big Red's Ride Blog

Blue Strat
I put a set of Ernie Ball Power Slinky's on my Ovation, and it actually plays better, but I'm not sure the sound is as good. .011 to .048 strings. I've used those Earth Wood strings too. Those are pretty good. What size strings did you buy? BlueStrat a.k.a. zapp_music
I put D'Adarrio Chromes 12's on my Epiphone Dot yesterday and they sound great I love them... very smooth, noiseless, easy to play and my first time using them. I'm going to use them from now on with my Dot. I'm also going to put some 11's on my Stratocaster and Flying V. Can't stand the sqeaks from others string types like rounds. I think I found the perfect strings for my style of play (funk, jazz, R&B, Blues).
