Teahead
I just wanted to share my experience with a couple of cool new pedals this week. After selling my Les Paul I invested in a Lo Fi Loop Junky and a Seek Trem to cheer myself up. It's a good job Zachs pedals are easy on batteries because I simply cannot unplug these pedals. Neither can I decide if I like one more than the other, both are simply stunning. The Seek Trem has "steps" switchable from 4, 6 or 8...a volume control for each step in the sequence and a speed control. There are cool delay and volume swell effects available, plus the ability to set it up to highlight parts in your piece. The quality of the tremolo is deep and can get very loud, overdriving both the pedal and your amp. Great for those REM tunes! The Lo Fi Loop Junky is indeed Lo-Fi. but it doesn't detract from a great pedal. There is a constant "hiss" to the loops, but it never imposes. The direct guitar that you play over the loop, is always astonishingly defined. Almost sounding as if it were coming from its own speaker! The best thing is the vibrato you can add to the loop, causing them to warp into an old gramophone type of sound. It's so much fun! Z Vex pedals are often not for every application, but they are very innovative and inspirational pedals that reward dedicated use with unique tones and immaculate effects. They look pretty too! Thanks for listening... Tea. Pedal Clips
Blue Strat
I built myself a tremolo, but it has a little tick to it. But, when I use it in the effect loop it sounds like Fender's tremolo in their blackface amps. I never did finish my Ottawa (Auto-wah) pedal. And yeah, Z. Vex is the man! BlueStrat a.k.a. revolead
GP did a review of those pedals awhile back. I thought they sounded interesting, but I've never had the money or willpower to chekc one out. (More so the money.) Bluestrat - you should build me a tremolo. Shut up and play.
Teahead
I recorded a couple of short clips this afternoon with the two new Z Vex pedals I've been obsessing over. Tele into Seek Trem, into Lo Fi into AC30 all the way... This was a spooky "ghost note" thing that appeared on a loop I recorded. It's more prominent on the second chord. Really illustrates the sort of cool quirks the Lo Fi can add to loops. This is a loop that is adjuted in parts and has a second guitar over the top. The direct guitar is always very discernable, it sparkles over the loop. This is a Seek Trem setting that I loop live and then play over. Just noodling really. This is another Seek Trem setting I was messing around with. Finally! Seek Trem looped with added noodles on top! These were all one take obviously and the clips are only intended to show the kind of things I've been getting from the pedals in my first few days of ownership. I hope they can give someone an idea of how the pedals sound and how they might be useful to them. Ignore the ham-fisted playing and I hope you can enjoy the clips! Thanks... Tea. Caevan O’Shite
Cool clips, Tea'! Like a glimpse of some sketches and doodles by an artist playing with new paints. Painterly noodling! I particularly like "lofidub", tremulous nebulous quavering knavery on cold blasts of ether. Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking with it!
