EmptinesOf Youth
k, ive yet to get my sennheiser, 2 weeks in order now, but thats not of my worries now. Im just curious as to if i should also spring for a condenser mic. The MXL (?) 990 is on sale at musicians friend again for 60 bucks and i figure why not take advantage of it right? Of course im gonna have to get a mixer with phantom power but i guess my real question is would the 990 work good for vocals AND guitar recording. I hear you get a real nice sound with a dynamic and condensor mic used in conjunction with each other. thanks for your time ryan
Dak Lander
Everything I hear about the MXL990 is good. I have several MXL condenser mics, a 1006 LD, & a pair of 1000 MDs and they all sound great. NMcGuitar
I'm interested in this too. $60 is a great price if the mic is half-way decent. Anyone else out there got opinions on and/or experiences with this mic? What are it's down sides? I don't have phantom power on my mixer. Most of the mics I've used allow you to use a battery instead. Can that be done with this one? If not, what's the cheapset/easiest way to deal with that using this mic? May all your thoughts be random! - Neil www.McFaddenArts.com www.MikesGarageRocks.com
