timrocker
Um. Isn't that a lap steel on "Lunatic Fringe"? Can anyone substantiate this one before I decide whether I didn't know that because it is or isn't the case?

picker
No, but I did know that the lead/slide guitar stuff on Dan Fogleberg's Part of the Plan was done by....JOE WALSH! Turns out they were both Cincinatti boys and they knew each other back in high school or something. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else. SuperFreak
Did you know that Emerson Lake & Palmer spelt backwards is Remlap & Ekal Nosreme !!! (I order this down at the local Thai restaurant, but we just call it the number 6) Did you know that the 1st comercially available CD single in New Zealand was Kylie Minogue's "The Locomotion"...a year after it was hit in England and Australia. Anyway...time for something truly trivial... Did you know the traditional scottish song "The Bonnie Earl o' Moray" gave birth to the expression 'mondegreens' meaning to confuse song lyrics. As the legend goes, Hamish Imlach, a noted singer of old scottish tunes had been talking to an American woman during the break at one of his performances and she had asked him if he sang "that wonderful old song about Lady Mondagreen". He expressed his total bewilderment until she tried to jog his memory by singing him the line, "They have slain the Earl o Moray and Lady Mondagreen". The correct line is "They have slain the Earl o Moray and laid him on the green". Other great mondagreens include... "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" - Jimi Hendrix "Purple Haze" "Smoke on the water, a fire engine guy". - Deep Purple "Smoke on the water" and my current favourite... "What happened to my cinnamon bun" - Kelly Clarkson "Miss Independant" (Listen to it carefully next time, and you'll hear EXACTLY that in Chorus 2 and 3) How can we fight ignorance and apathy? Who knows! Who cares!
Vortex
Um. Isn't that a lap steel on "Lunatic Fringe"? Can anyone substantiate this one before I decide whether I didn't know that because it is or isn't the case? Timrocker, When I saw Tom Cochrane in the late 80's, Ken Greer was playing steel on Lunatic Fringe. His tone and playing was awesome. Playing live, the band streched out on the intro of the tune I remember loving the fat searing tone Ken had going. If it was Walsh on the album, then Ken matched every nuance and then some... Later I had a chance to talk to him and found out that he was using a Sears Viking tube amp with the steel. Why doesn't Sears reissue those! A String
Did you know that there was a theory on the books based on the existence of particles which travel backwards in time. This theory explains that the existence of all of the matter in the universe is here because of one particle. This particle would have passed by me at 10:45 PM and added one tiny part of the letter "A" on my keyboard. Eventually, this particle reaches the end of time and begins it's journey back. On the way through I am able to witness it at 10:45 PM as a part of my desk. Then it's moves back to the beginning of time. This one particle moves forward and backward an infinite amount of times. Each time I can witness it in a different location but because it was part of my keyboard the first time and part of my desk the second, I see it twice. After an infinite number of passes, I can observe it's existence here in my home at 10:45 PM in a zillion locations as all the matter around me (Including me).
