I finally downloaded an mp3 player for my work computer so I could listen to some of your music posts, and must say thank you to all of you real musicians out there! So far I've listened to music from Guitarzan, Billster, A String, Daklander, Bad Blues, Teahead and Guitplayer and am very impressed with the music you guys produce :thu: . I'm just a lowly, bottom feeding (46 year old! HA) beginner but I LOVE playing guitar and thanks to advice from this great forum, have been taking lessons. As I get time I'll check out more of the music, look forward to it. I now have a long term goal of posting some of my own music on this site, just give me a few years to figure it all out!!

I have to add my two cents to this one. I agree totally. I first came here because I was clueless and desperate for some answers from real players. Not only have I gotten fantastic advice and support, but I've also been inspired by the musical abilities and ideals of the people on this forum... (no ass kissing intended :D ) Really, all you have to do is listen to any popular or hits station and you'll completely lose faith in the direction and evolution of music today. Meeting everyone here has given me renewed faith.

Not to mention it's just cool to meet people from all over the world that I'd love to jam with some day.

Thanks

Hey thanks! :o

Go back and check out Scott Jones and Pauldil if you haven't already. DOn't know if FunkJazz is in the music post area (he used to have a link i nhis signature line), but I highly recommend that.

All of the music I've heard here is good, the worst I can say is some of it isn't my cup of tea.

THanks again (embarrased again)

PLUS, if it wasn't for this forum and the great people here, some eBay person would be playing my LP right now.

Thanks again and again everyone!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_28_100.gif

I would second checking out PAULDIL's tunes. He doesn't say much, but he's one hell of a guitar player. :D:cool::cool:

I have to step in here too and mention Pauldil. His guitar playing has inspired me!

There are so many others here who are amazing players, Funkjazz, Lee F, Scott...

Geeze, I was going to write out a list but I don't want to exlude anyone. You guys are all great and I have learned something from all of you!

Where else can you go that you can hang out with friends and learn everthing you want to know about music!

Long live the MP Formites! :thu:

I'd like to take this chance to thank everyone too

I came here trying to learn more about electric guitars after having played acoustic for thirty years. Not only did I learn more than I ever expected to learn about electric guitars, and amps; but I learned how much I did NOT know about acoustic guitars.

Now I am a more complete "elephant fingers" as I used to call some less than talented guitar players in bar bands.

Again, THANK YOU one and all

Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".

Yay! There are indeed some fantastically talented folks here, and doing so much more interesting and varied stuff than most of what you hear on the radio these days.

And it's nice to inspire the folks who are just getting started, too. Everyone here is so generous with their time and advice, and support. I can definitely feel the love!:thu:

I've heard quite a few good players here.. since I began work at a place with broadband, that is! ;)

Many of you don't realize you're fine players already, too. We all have room for expansion of our skills and artistry, but several posters out there who are always self depricating are really interesting players and composers.

My memory's slipping.. Was it Caevan or James-Italy who posted the wonderfully Mark Knopfler-esque sample of his P-90 equipped LP? It was you, James, wasn't it? ;) I loved that little snippet. :thu:

I just got back from a week-long vacation in Orlando, where I didn't have internet access, so I'm just reading this for the first time today. Billster, DIAMOND DUST, A String & Guitarzan, thanks so much for the compliments!! :o:o You've all inspired me with your music as well! So has Teahead, FunkJazz, Scott, Henry, Steevo, Guitplayer, Dak... the list goes on and on. There really is a lot of talent here, and such wonderfully diverse group of players :thu:

Thanks,

Paul
