There was a thread about somethng like this a little while back - I'm looking for it, but I haven't found it yet.

As I recall, the device seemed pretty cool, but was really expensive.

Oops. Not the device I was thinking of. There is this "system" you can get added to a guitar that automatically tunes it. If you want to switch to an alternate tuning, you just press a button and bingo! it's done. That's what I was thinking of.

Good point. I never thought about that.

 

I guess you could INTENTIONALLY make the string flat so it gets tuned "up".

 

I'm just curious as to how accurate it really is. This would be worthless on my Strat(which has a locking nut).
