Those rubber thingies on guitar stands...

You know them. They keep the guitar/bass from falling off the stand.

I have a triple stand and a single. The triple has one left. Lost one, and the rest got dry, and cracked.

Anyone know if replacements are available? I'd do a search... if I knew what the damn things are called.

Maybe someone knows an effective, easy fix?

Thanx in advance!!

Don't know if such a replacement item would be readily available. Contact the manufacturer, I guess

Maybe an electronics supply would have a suitable size of heat shrink tubing?

Maybe the hardware depot would have something suitable in plumbing under the "insulation" category? Or perhaps weatherstripping?

Auto parts store? Lots of sizes of rubber bumpers and insulation around car doors and things like that.

Go to Home Depot...I believe in the plumming secton, or there about...

...there are rolls and rolls of various kinds of tubing...plastic/rubber.

Just find the right size and get a couple of feet...cut it to size...replace but tubing...done.

You might spend $3-$5 for the whole thing.

Are you talking about the padding on the stand, or are you refering to the piece that that goes across the "fork" so that the guitar is essentially "strapped in" to the stand?

(I mean that little piece across the top).

Hey, I think he does mean the "strapped in thingy"! Good catch. It's late, I need to adjust my eyes.

Head down to OfficeStapleMaxDepot and get an industrial width rubber band of appropriate size.

I believe that he's talking aobut the strap that keeps the guitar from falling off the stand, not the anti-scuff tubing. You could probably get some of the fat rubber bands that meat markets use on Lobster claws and use them to secure the guitar. ;)

The heavy-duty rubber band is a good idea.

You could also go to your local guitar store and see if they've got any of them around. I can't imagine they'd cost more than a buck or so.

Lay a little crazy glue across the support & stick that axe right there. It won't fall off anymore. 'Course you'll have to strap on the stand when you play too.

Somebody makes 'em!

I currently have two heavy-duty rubber bands liberated from lobster-claws on mine, but I'd bet that if you contacted a few manufacturers of stands and such- Carvin, perhaps?- at least one of 'em would be willing to sell you a box, or maybe even a few looseys.
