jumpskirt
Okay, before I go and spend bucks for this idea, I thought I'd see if anyone has tried this. I have an OLP MM1 - (Ernie Ball MM Axis copy) that has zebra humbuckers in it. They are mounted with 2 screws, one on each side of the pup in holes routed into the front of the body. Would a "dog-ear" P-90 picup work as a replacement? Anyone tried this? Thanks!

Guitar Geezer
How does that Axis play and sound? Seem em in the catalogs, but never in person. Lynn G
jumpskirt
Actually, it sounds really good. I read somewhere that the pups are the same as in the more expensive (Axis) model. These are made in Korea. They are great for metal, Van Halen stuff. What is really nice are the necks, light weight and smaller body (than Srats and Teles that I usually play). The only complaint is they are great at what they do - but are not very versatile. That is why I thought about some P-90's -- kinda in the middle of the road between HB's and SC's. Guitarzan
Jumpskirt, if you check on Harmony centrals user reviews you will find alot of the OLP axis owners also own the real Musicman axis guitars. and they have good things to say about the OLP axis. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
Werewolf by Night
Yeah, as long as a "standard" humbucker will fit in there, either of the aforementioned Gibson P-94s and Seymour Duncan Phat Cats will fit, too. S'posed t'be just like P-90s internally, just made to fit hb mounts. The SDs were well liked by various folks who tried out Hamer guitars that were equipped with 'em. By the way, jumpskirt- how'd you make out on your mid-boost quest for that Tele? Was the one I suggested of any interest?
