LiveMusic
I listened to this for the first time in a long time. Wow! I bought this record in like 1973. Anyway, it struck me how unique the guitar is. What kind of guitar did he use back then? The other thing that hit me was how COUNTRY this record is. Steel guitar, the beat on several songs, etc. > > > [ Live! ] < < <
tiger85
I think that he used Martin guitars in '73 but I couldn't say for sure. ...touched down in the land of the Delta Blues.....in the middle of the pouring rain....
fantasticsound
I believe he was playing Martins, too. But I don't have any documentation. This is what I grew up on. I love James Taylor's music, and have been playing it since the 1970's. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Philip OKeefe
Maybe it WAS a Martin, but I always thought he was using a Gibson J-45 back then. Maybe I'm way off base.
Werewolf by Night
Then there's those elusive, expensive Olson acoustic guitars that he uses now; I'd love to just be able to try one out sometime! They've gotta be the "Dumble" of the steel-string flat-top world!
