bty3056
hi everybody my first post! Basically i have a low income and need a new guitar. What do you think of this guitar? The makers antoria aren't around anymore but i read some reviews and most of them were good. Also, it talks of getting a set-up (which i know hardly anything about), how much would this set me back? Thanks very much http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2384&item=3734240171&rd=
picker
I am not familiar with the brand, It's obviously an ES-175 copy, and the picture looks like it's a a pretty well-made one. Value-wise the guitar is probably not worth more than $250-300(don't know what tha converts to in pounds, sorry), but you might be able to pick it up for less with a bit of luck. Unelss it's an investment for you, what it;s worth really depends on how much you want to spend on it. As far as setting it up goes, it sounds like the bridge needs to be repositioned, which is no big deal. A competent tech should be able to do that for less than $25. IF the neck needs adjustment or other issues need to be adressed, it goes up from there. Have you looked into Jay Turser guitars? If the Antoria gets away from you and you just have to have a 175 clone, they make one (the JT-136) that is really quite good, and I think it will go new for about the same as the Antoria. Check them out here;http://www.jayturserguitar.com/jazzguitars.html Good luck with your bidding... Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else. Used to have some friends from Bristol, long time ago. At any rate, for a "cheap 335" type, I'd check out an Epiphone Dot. I've got one, love it. Depending on what you're playing, you might want to put a stronger pickup in the bridge position. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Björn Fröberg
While talking about ES-175 copies, has anyone here tried out the Ibanez Artcore AK85? I've heard lots of good things about the Artcores here, but I haven't tried one out. The AK85 seems to be the choice for me (even if I don't have the cash for it now ), and I'd really like an opinion on playability and sound. - Bob Freebird A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. -Douglas Adams
Tedster
Yeah, Bjorn, Dave the Dude mentioned one, and NeilMcGuitar has one. My non-forum buddy Charlie in Michigan has one, too. Great guitars. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
