Kyrajeans
http://www.acidplanet.com/Pictures/0165000/740835-164981.jpg Recorded in his home studio and fully produced all his own, David Powers marks the return of and future of rock musics original roots with the release of his first, long awaited album, The Power of One on his own label, MindRide Records. Having opened for rock legends such as David Lee Roth, Ratt, Jackal, Sebastian Bach and Winger, Davids original, guitar-driven power rock music and colossal vocals have attracted a massive fan base. The Power of One is strong on songs, performance, and production. It has a striking realness and emotional drive that will be both familiar and new to you, at once. David Powers stirs up elements of 70s, 80s and 90s rock, and serves them up on one fresh CD platter, with a hint of influences that include everything from Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Lenny Kravitz and Creed. David Powers is a rock masterpiece that reminds me of the songwriting days when rock songs had more than 2 chords and a guitar solo!- More Sugar Magazine Leading East coast radio stations such as WRKI i95 - 95.1, WXCI 91.7, WPDH 101.5 and WSOU 89.5, have picked up on the album and are playing Powers songs at the high demand of requests of listeners. Further, Powers has recently appeared live for interviews on radio stations WXCI and I-95 in Connecticut, and WSOU in New Jersey. The power behind his name and album, and that which resides in David is the very essence of his existence; raw musical talent. David plays every instrument, writes and produces his own songs, and is a seasoned engineer. Founder and owner of Starr Ridges Studios and MindRide Records, Powers live performances have all the ingredients of a true rock show: volume, passion, sex, drama and charisma; a creative and captivating experience that pulls the audience in and doesn't let go. At the age of 5 David picked up his first guitar and hasnt put it down since. Throughout his life David has worked in various cover and original bands playing everything from guitar to drums, piano and bass and has the uncanny ability to master any instrument of his choice. David has become well-known and highly respected for his melodic and articulate yet heavy guitar style, which he makes look deceivingly easy. Hold on to your seats while David Powers of MindRide Records brings you what he calls "The Future of MusicToday", at East Coast Venues throughout the summer. He is likely to blow you away. Kyra
Well, let's see... There is a talented band who is being featured in leading publications with a large following that is out doing something with their lives, and a couple of people with nothing better to do with themselves than post insulting comments about other people. No one's listening guys. Get out and get a girlfriend. And if you ever plan to pursue a music career, you better watch whose feet you step on. -------------------- "Life Isn't About Finding Yourself. Guitar Geezer
Well, since our semi-official greeter is not in at the moment, I will quote Caevin Hey, welcome to the forum! Please stick around, hang-out from time to time; you'll find a lot of great and knowledgeable folks around hear, get to know 'em! It's kinda like a virtual pub next door to a guitar shop here. (Being more than a hit-and run poster will endear you to other Forum members, who may be inclined to disfavorably view a single-post music-link as free advertising. For that matter, we've got a dedicated "Music Post"-thread here, too; general protocol around here happily allows for links and promotional material to be included in your "signature"-line.) We do get a LOT of hit and run - 1 time promoter posters - hence the visual harassment. Now if David would like to drop in and chat, I am sure we could share a lot! Some have even been in major label acts. I, myself, have toured with several major label acts who've had Top 40 hits, as well as mixed industry functions for Capitol Records Nashville, BMI among others. And my resume is nothing in comparison to many around here. That said, what "leading publications" have you been featured in? "More Sugar Magazine"?? First, has anyone ever heard of this publication and second, who cares? It ain't Rolling Stone. Hell, it's not Creem! There's nothing wrong with self promotion, until you advertise yourself with total conceit, then antagonize and insult the audience for calling you on it. This isn't your free ad space. It's a community. If you would like to participate, then do so. Get to know some people before trying to sell us your record. It's easiest to find me on Facebook.
