TeleCarlos
Ok so I'm a little excited... So, as I said a while ago, I was sick of my Strat, been way too long playing and no longer even like it. I bought from my friend, who is leaving the country in a hurry a used Takamine, cuz I really wanna sing along, you know, Ryan Adams, Ben Kweller stuff (folky, sizzy stuff to get laid ). Haven't played it yet cuz I'm ordering the saddle bone thing. So, my friend also had a Epiphone and when I asked him how much, Wooohooo, I got a new guitar!!! It's an Epiphone Sheraton (not the II, I belive), has gold hardware (no Grovers on mine thou), some fancy inlay and... looks good! So, haven't played either since need a stop tail thing which I'm ordering today. Man, I can't wait to give it a run. Guess what, these new babies HAVE to be played live so, soon I'll be playing in some band out there (not my own stuff thou, cuz I ain't got no own stuff yet). I don'y know but, a new guitar sort of gives you a whole new attitude, like buying a whole new wardrobe ( ), a different style. Shit, I still can't get over that I'll be playing the same guitar Nick Valensi and Noel Gallgher play!!! (sort of, you know). I'm just exagerating and joking, but I do feel I'm heading towards were I "should" be. Pics will come later...

Björn Fröberg
Congrats' Carlos! I don't know about your prices there, but for 250$ for a Sheraton sounds good to me. But I would've wanted to play it first, to check it out, since I haven't ever played a Sheraton before. BTW, what is the difference between a Sheraton I and II? - Bob Freebird A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. -Douglas Adams
TeleCarlos
You are right, should have played it first but... it's pretty cheap I guess. The sticker on the inside says Sheraton, but all the catalogs and Epi web site sya Sheraton II. I've heard they had Grover tuning pegs. That's all the difference I could see. Mudcat
I believe the Sheraton II has a stop tailpiece while the Sheraton has onoe of staggered trapeze tailpieces. Not 100% certain though. tiger85
My Sheraton II has a stop tailpiece, its a really nice looking, playing, and sounding guitar. I'm looking at a 2004 Epiphone catalog right now. There is no regular Sheraton, just the II model listed for the regular (made in Korea) line. However under the John Lee Hooker limited edition USA guitars, two models are pictured: the 1964 Sheraton and the 1964 Sheraton II. The difference? The II has the stop tailpiece and the other a "frequensator" ( same at the Riveria model). Both models are different from the regular Sheraton in that they have mini-humbuckers and black pickguards rather than regular humbuckers and whatever that other pickguard color is called ( I took my off ). Of course the biggest difference is the price: under 700 (w/case) for the reg verses 2000 for the Hooker models. But don't let anyone tell you differently: the import models are very well built and they sound great. 250 is a good price, that's about what I paid for mine used which in Memphis is cheap. (most used guitars here are over priced, a Mex Strat in Kansas City was 250, here the are 300+). Anyway, congrats on the purchase. May it serve you well. ...touched down in the land of the Delta Blues.....in the middle of the pouring rain....
