I had a problem with overseas shipping once. A guy bought a gold pocket watch from me on eBay. I said "usa only". He bid anyway and won, so I decided to send it to him. The Portugal customs office took it and held it for over 4 months. In the meantime, this buyer ragged on my ass daily for his watch or his money back. Fedex said they were helpless to get it out of customs. I wasn't going to fly to Portugal and fight with them. Finally the watch was released and delivered. I have refused any buyers outside of US ever since. Not that I sell that many things, but I won't be held responsible for another countries laws and regulations.

Hey Dave, you might consider adding one of those "not Gibson" type things to your description...that way more browsers that put in key words like "Gibson" will browse by it... :D

Exactly! It is very difficult to get restitution on foreign shipped items that fail to arrive. Plus, if the shipping company says the item arrived and the buyer says no, how much are you going to spend to prove they received the merchandise?

I won't ship overseas on Ebay sales.

I always put that I will only ship to the UK, but on the 2 occasions that I have been asked if I would mind sending abroad I have agreed. They were quite low priced items tho (books as I recall), and only one of them actually won, and that was no trouble.

I probably wouldn't if it was something more valuable like a guitar (have a Warlock on at the moment if anyone is interested?? You'll have to be in the UK tho :D )
