Okay I'm just curious, this may sound like a stupid question but what is the instument that you here on Zep's Gallows pole, has a cool eerie sound. It has a big jack-in-the box type wind-up handle on one end, and some strings? I think it was the same thing Jimmy was playing in the lake scene at the beginning of the song remains the same. It's keeping that damn monkey with the tin-cup in style that'll drive ya bankrupt! You'll think tubes and strings are cheap! :D

Wanna build one? I found a site that has instructions for a hurdy-gurdy.

the guy's homepage has some other interesting musical instrument projects on it too.

I think my favorite part is when they all get into the car and can't decide where to sit and then crash... that whole part where they're gathering everybody together really... I love it when george was driving ringo's car and messing with his head about the color... it's all in the mind :D

Oh yeah I'm a big beatles fan

Oh boy I was on the edge of my seat watchin' Der Stingal play du hurdy gurdy! It was so exciting I almost crapt mine hands.

Elvis Costelo performed an equally undescribable act of guitar. The only thing missing was the boy without eyebrows clankin' on the banjo.

I think Alison Krauss is great as are those aforementioned gentlemen but I got a much larger kick out of the soundtrack from Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.. It actually inspired me to pick up the mandolin.

I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.

banjos? BANJOS? We don't need no stinkin' BANJO!@!!

I'm sorry, I just had to say it. I love a good Scruggs-style banjo picker any time.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Jimmy played guitar on Donovan's hit Hurdy Gurdy man back in his pre-zeppelin hired gun studio days (just a bit of excess trivia).

That is a very interesting bit of trivia that I did not know. I was a Donavan fan oh so many years ago. But I was so much older than, I'm younger than that now.
