Major Tom
I think I may have finally reached the point that every male guitar player aspires to in his marriage. I believe that I actually have reached "saturation" with the number of guitars I have in the house to the point where my wife no longer knows or cares what I have! I have bought a few guitars on ebay over the last few months, and lately I have bought 5 or 6 "project" guitars, bargains to either repair and re-sell, or part out. Two of my recent aquisitions were cheap 80's LP copies that had expensive aftermarket pickups, I only paid a little more than what I can get for the Gibson/Duncans installed in there, and I will put some cheaper ones in there and then re-sell, hoping to make a few bux... Anyway, she came down in the basement to talk to me yesterday, walked right past these 2 guits which are sitting on stands and did not say a word !!! Trust me she is very observant, and would notice a new guitar. Last Sunday at church, I played a guitar that she had never seen before, and said nothing to me afterwards!! Am I dreaming, or have I reached a state of marital bliss that most of us only dream of? If so, eat your hearts out, if not, somebody wake me. Or the point of "whaaateeever..." either way, as long as it works Hey, it only took me 29 years to reach that point !
Stratasaurus
Marital bliss is when SHE walks in the door with a sunburst LP. Proceeds to explain what a great deal she got on it. She knew you would love it and the price was too good to pass up.

Of course, I'd expect to borrow it now and again!
Stratasaurus
Well I married a piano player. She got her grand piano, and I have a lifetime free pass. She's the greatest, and yes she has bought guitars for me. (hasn't asked to borrow yet, but she can anytime.)

Tedster
You might want to check the closet floor from time to time. Her shoe cache might be multiplying geometrically. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Steevo
My wife and I get along great since I added this piece of gear to my setup. It just takes a little practice to know which knob to twist and which to avoid. http://www.omnidigital.com/manwoman.jpg

Major Tom
I recall a fellow writing into Guitarshop magazines letter page, telling how his girlfriend showed up at his place of work with an Gibson Ace Frehley Les Paul for his b'day!!! My wife has bought me a couple guits for Christmas and a birthday... but once I exceeded 6 or so, I think she doesn't feel the need to do that anymore. As far as the shoes - she has always had tons of shoes and clothes. I would know if she increased her buying of those, I would open a closet door and be greeted by an avalanche - since they are already completely stuffed! picker
A wise man might look on such behavior as sort of the eye of the storm; enjoy it while it lasts, but don't count on it being that way permanently. Lord only knows if she'll develop an itch about your guitar collection down the road; some women tend to change the rules on a dime, if you know what I mean. Walk carefully, brah, you never know when she might start thinking otherwise.... Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
