pauldil
I just took a look at the Keyboard Corner forum and saw that they have links labeled 'Keyboard Corner "Classic Posts"' that stay at the top of the page. They point to an "Introduce Yourself" thread, a "Post Your Music" thread and a "Garage Sale" thread. Seems like a great idea, I wonder why the other forums here don't have something like that? Björn Fröberg
Hey, that's a good idea! We should get those too! We could put the "Ask Myles" thread there too. - Bob Freebird A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. -Douglas Adams

I I mjrn
While the general idea is good (& in fact has been discussed for a while ....the lowdown forum cats have been dreaming about something like that for a while), there's also a recently instituted area of the Music Player site, that has "for sale/trade" listings divided by instrument, etc., type. True, it hooks you up to E-Bay but I'd rather not see any more proliferation of sales posting. The part about "classic" posts (as in introductions, etc) is good, though. Checking the archives one can see that there are numerous repetitions of several thread types that recur & that might be a great way to not only eliminate those repetitions but to collate the info that is posted to them (since they don't always draw the same members into the discussions, there's info in one "vibrato bar" or "rewiring my Strat" thread that's not in another). It does sometimes get a bit tiresome to see the same material reworked, not to mention the bandwidth-space savings.
Lee Flier
I found out how to do it and am working up a banner and some links for my forum. I'd be happy to do it for Myles too if we want one here.
