popcritic
My daughter Kaki has been invited to perform at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville--original home of the "Grand Ole Opry". She will appear on July 23 as one of the featured performers in a concert called All Star Guitar Night. http://www.allstarguitarnight.com/ This is a semiannual concert event held in conjunction with the winter and summer NAMM. In its 12th year, the event is the brainchild of Muriel Anderson, one of the greatest guitarists ever. She is a winner of the National Fingerpicking Championship as well as many other distinguished honors. After seeing Kaki in performance at the winter NAMM, Muriel invited her to be on the program this summer. Kaki called on Father's Day and invited me to see the show. I'd be delighted to meet any of you who happen to be there. Best to everyone-- Dave King Atlanta
BriBaby
Great news! The wife and I just toured the Ryman two weeks ago on our vacation. For some extra $ they took us through the dressing rooms, explaining all the way what room was whose, etc. It was really neat to be in a place with so much history. Good for you and your daughter, would meet you at Tootsie's if we could make the drive, but just did the Nashville trip. Hope all goes well! Once I thought I saw you, in a crowded, hazy, bar........ mdog114
That's great! You have a talented daughter. I'm up in NY, so I'll have to wait until she's local. "Never back-up more than you have to" REAL MEN PLAY TELECASTERS!
mavick
I definitely like Kaki's playing, & I'll try to stop by. I am glad no one called "spam" on this post like some other ones. VVV
