EmptinesOf Youth
now overall not the most talented band out there and they did belong to the whole 80s metal regime but they do have a few songs i love (wasted time, in a darkened room..theres a couple more). I think the thing that does it for me, beside the fact that they solo in every song, unlike so many crappy bands out there, is sebastian bachs voice, he can actually sing. I think hes actually doing broadway stuff now, i dont know just thinking....any thoughts?
Dylan
I saw Skid Row open for GN'R back in the day. They were fantastic! I wasn't looking forward to seeing them, but they blew me away. They were probably one of the tighest bands I have ever seen live.
Base
I have the first 3 albums, I think Seb Bach left after that didn't he?? Yeah, he could really sing!! Have been listening to some of the SLave To The Grind stuff lately actually, In A Darkened Room is a great song...! Quite fond of Breaking Down too (was used in some dodgy horror film I think)... Who sings for them nowadays??? Fa Fa FA Fa fa fa fa fa FA fa FA FA
Hound Dog
I saw them open for Kiss a few years ago. They rock pretty hard. I wouldn't want to get too close to the stage, though. I noticed that the guitar players spit alot and they didn't seem to care where they were spitting. I don't consider myself a priss, but I don't really like to get spit upon. I'll watch them from a distance. Yum, Yum! Eat em up!

Outrider
Originally posted by EmptinessOFYouth: ...they did belong to the whole 80s metal regime Seems like they came along towards the end of that trend and tried to breathe some life/credibility back into it. While Warrant was trying their best to kill metal off with "Cherry Pie", Skid Row was rockin' pretty hard and taking it more seriously...harder and darker instead of more glam/pop/partyMetal. Grunge was about to kill the whole thing, though. Bad timing. Base
Didn't Jon Bon Jovi have a hand in that first album?? That had a couple of good songs, total party rock but fun all the same, but once they were free to do their own thing it got a hell of a lot better with Slave To The Grind!! I can also credit them with introducing me to my favourite song, Little Wing, and through that to Jimi Hendrix Fa Fa FA Fa fa fa fa fa FA fa FA FA
Gabriel E.
I never cared for them until they released "Slave to the Grind". That album redeemed them for the "18 and Life" powerballad and their other earlier metal-lite stuff. It's a brutal record. Dak Lander
Which Skid Row? The original or the late comers? Our Joint "When you come slam bang up against trouble, it never looks half as bad if you face up to it." The Duke...

Base
Was listening to some old stuff I only have on vinyl on napster last night, good stuff. Am going to have to re-learn In A Darkened Room now. Does anyone know what shows Seb has been in?? Can certainly see him doing that, incredible voice...! Just to go off on a tangent, what other rock singers have done that? MeatLoaf started out doing shows, like Rocky Horror. I have a recording of Alice Cooper singing Herod's song on a cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar, but I don't think he was ever in the stage show. He was also asked to play the Child-Catcher in the London production of Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang but turned it down due to touring commitments. It was Wayne Sleep when I saw it (g/f at the time wanted to go, ok!!!!!!!!!!! Honest ). About the most unscary, unintimidating person they could have got in there?!?!?
