Lee Flier
OK, now that I've raved about Glenn Tilbrook, I ALSO saw the Patti Smith Band this past weekend, and man! She's been playing with Lenny Kaye, who was the guitarist in the original Patti Smith Group and a great player... but this OTHER dude she's got, Oliver Ray... wow! What a tasty player and incredible tone! Mostly plays Tele's through a blackface Twin. He's just got that fat, classic tone, a little bit reminiscent of Mike Campbell in that he really plays to the song and has wonderful phrasing, tone and choice of notes - all my most favorite things. Patti is a wonderful performer and songwriter anyhow, so you shouldn't miss her if she comes around, but the guitar playing is the icing on the cake! Tedster
Cool! Yeah, I think I heard that you'd seen Patti Smith. Weird. My boss' name is Mike Campbell. He's never played with Tom Petty though. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
