of course they would, having people believe it could mean less sales, this could result in their market value dropping... they'll prbably denie it until you see the new logo, when they "proudly announce the acquisiton blablabla..." ;)
- due to recent cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been SWITCHED OFF

Hard to imagine what might more negatively affect their sales than the debacle following their mid-1960s aquisition by CBS.

Quick everybody! Run- don't walk- to your local musical instrument emporium and buy up as many strats, teles, basses, and amps as you can! We might soon be discussing how the post-Fender acquisition guitars are dogs compared to the 'golden age' of FMIC. ;)

 

(just kidding in case sombody missed that) :D
