dougsthang Posted June 9, 2004 Share Posted June 9, 2004 man, I am worn to the bone. Heard so much music Friday - Sunday I'm numb. This was a three day Clapton Crossroads festival in Dallas. Shows and clinics and seminars all through each day. So many cats played it's hard to explain. Some highlights. JJ Cale w/ Clapton Robert Randolph (anybody not hip to him, get hip) Johnny A big jam Saturday night all on stage at once were; Clapton, Jimmie Vaughn,Buddy Guy, Herbert Sumlin, Robert Randolph and Robert Cray a blues clinic w/ Honey Boy Edwards and Robert Lockwood Jr, both guys were taught by Robert Johnson A blues jam on the main stage with BB King, Clapton, Jimmie Vaughn, & Buddy Guy Other guys who played; Steve Via Pat Metheny John McLaughlin Jeff Beck Sonny Landreth Larry Carlton Joe Walsh Vince Gill Carlos Santana ZZ Top to name a few Great weekend that really recharged my playing batteries. We (Digitech) were one of the sponsors and we had a booth where people could stop by and play with the new stuff. Fun but very loud all day. Theres nothing like the sound of twenty different guitartist playing twenty different amps, playing twenty different songs and with slightly different tuning. Good God.
