Blue Strat
I've started playing with the choir at church and when we played in front of the congregation, the music director wanted my guitar to have a lot of presence. Last time I used a large array of speakers; a 4 x 10", 1 x 15", and a 2 x 12" speaker setup at lower volume to cover a lot of ground. Next time, I'd like to run through the church PA if possible, but there's no 1/4" jacks at the front of the sanctuary. That's why I'm thinking about using a DI box. Musician's Friend has the Behringer GI100 Ultra-G for $29.99. Anyone tried one of these? BlueStrat a.k.a. Billster
I love my Hughes & Kettner Red Box. Grab a used one. The Red Box has speaker emulation to take the harshness out of direct to desk guitar - great for recording. Don't know if the speaker emulation is required for live sound, but it's still a great box. Werewolf by Night
Hmmnn... couldn't you work up some kind of a tap off from the OT and speaker of one of your amps, to make a line-level slave/DI output? There was a project like that in an early '80s issue of Guitar Player magazine, perhaps I can find it amongst my enormous back-catalog stash of GP. That sounds more like you anyways, blue', being a "D.I.Y."-project!
