Neither could mine, but I hear the Epi MaSterbuilt guitars are pretty good.

Speaking of Epi, I bought an Epiphone Sheraton in a pawnshop a year ago, and even this stock guitar is just plain amazing for the money. Well built, great playing and super sounding humbuckers. Its a natural finish and it is really beautiful. I'm new here but you'll find that with 3 kids and a mortgage you'll see me talking guitar bargains. Also have a kinda beat up early nineties American strat. Other than these, I'm guitar poor but love to play the new ones in the store. Stratocaster dreamin'!

And there's nothin' wrong with

I'm a bargain kinda' guy too. My latest bargain was a Highway 1 Strat. A good price ($600), and a guitar I can keep for a lifetime.

Its nice to feel welcomed, Dave. Thanks.

Nice forum here. Yeah, those new HW 1 strats are really nice. The ones I've played sound great and play super. All the goodies at a great price. Looks like Gibson is doing the same thing with the faded SG amd Les Paul. Maybe that Taylor guitar started it all. Now Martin has jumped with in the Little Martin. Its all good!

Yeah to all the above. Whether I ultimately become a Fender Guy or a Gibson Guy (I'm not sure which yet), Fender seems to lead the way, marketing wise that is.

Dave the Fender, Gibson, Hamer (good used value), etc. Guy

I love Gibsons but nothing beats the feel of a maple neck Strat to me. Bottom line is that on a Strat you can play anything with the 5- way switch. Can't really afford a Gibson right now anyway. Hamers are nice guitars too. Check out some of their top of the line models. Gorgeous. Best kept secret, guitar wise, in the country.
