BiC
I want to live somewhere isolated from all the crap going on in this sin-sickened world of our's. A place that is: ... bad news-free ... crime-free ... drug-free ... fear-free ... hate-free ... sick-free ... war-free ... care-free Ahhh... If only such a place existed this side of Heaven... How about we all chip in, buy some RURAL land, and start a Commune? Jedro
BiC, I know how you feel. There is a lot of crap in the world. Always has been. But, it's the bad things that make me think about the good. I work in TV news, so all day I hear bad news. But,when I get in the car and the sun is shining and the tunes are blasting -maybe some Van Halen- I appreciate it so much. Pure joy. It might sound silly, but I still have times when I think it can't get any better. Maybe we need the good and the bad to balance it all out. Everybody knows rock attained perfection in 1974. mach1mike
I agree. There are enough good stories out there if not more good than bad. They are just never heard. Maybe every other story on the news should be a good one. God Favors no Group, Only Religions Do That
LeftyBlues
There's always bad news, but there's always good news too, it' just the bad news is what the media reports. Step #1: never watch the news, especially the crappy local news. "Murder and rape - could it happen in YOUR neighborhood??" What a bunch of hooey. Step #2: Appreciate what's good in your life, because that's what you can control for the most part. Did you wake up in your own bed, rather than a hospital bed? That's always a good sign! Can you play your guitar today, or is your arm(s) in a cast from that car wreck yesterday? See, it's all perspective, things ain't as bad as they seem most days. No doubt, though, that some days you just can't shake off what's going on in the world and that's ok too, it can help you appreciate what you've got. Bennie King had to pick cotton to earn enough money for his first guitar, I can honestly say I didn't have to do the same. Keep you chin up and a smile on your face. BiC
OK... let's hear some commune ideas! Commune- "plugged" or "unplugged"? I say PLUGGED! I mean, I have to blow-dry my hair or it's just get too weird look'n! I think Canada would be a GREAT idea, or maybe someplace in Montana or Idaho perhaps? - How will we govern our little commune? - How will we support ourself? I say we manufacture geetars! There are some communes who manufacture a particular item(s), then they use the profits for medical bills/food/ and other cost of living expenses. Each worker get's a weekly allowance to purchase items that the commune does not provide for- smokes, beer, junk food. Stuff like that. K- let's find some virtual land!
