Werewolf by Night
Uuhmmn... yeah. Right. I'll, uh, get right on that. Is it just me, or do they look a little... less than 'comfy' and soft for your pride-and-joy to recline upon? Perhaps I'm just missing some bit about padding and cushioning; but, they don't look to me like you'll see a rash of vintage Les Paul owners using them any time soon! Now, they could look kinda cool for some types of stage get-ups, kinda goth or death metal and the like... Shoes
This is obviously a subsidiary of Monster Truck World Accessories. Chromed skidplate is terribly over rated as a material for anything but steps. webe123
In all honesty....I can't seriously believe that whoever made those stands, actually expects to sell them for $175.00 apiece! I mean first off, you have a FLOOR hazard with all that metal. Second, I just could not bring myself to think that ANYONE with half a brain would think to charge that much for a guitar stand. It's unreal.

The guy who answered my email took weeks to reply, then had no idea if I was a consumer or potential rep. I could have been both. Now, I have no interest in either the product or the company. If they can't answer a simple email (and I emailed the same questions several times to no avail) then I'm certainly not going to support them with my $$$. I have an Ultimate Support Genesis 100 (a wonderful, lightweight, hanging stand that folds up about as small as physically possible. The price? Around $25. (I got mine for much less as a salesman.) Werewolf by Night
My second stand- for whichever guitar I'm spending less time with, and that goes back and forth- is a cardboard-box with an all-cotton tee-shirt draped over it, perched atop an old Traynor head in my room; it's just wide enough that a Les Paul will sit upright in it rather snuggly! FREE!! Not at all stage-worthy, though, I admit! But good enough for my bedroom! webe123
By the way, the guy from "sharp concepts" came back on harmony central and this is what he posted: "Nevermind...Our Designs are FULLY padded, will not scratch guitars etc. etc. etc. Sorry to post here." He also made another post trying to explain his companies actions: "Yeah Ben, maybe your right. But I can say that we do sell to over 50 dealers and dist.'s ??..Whatever man. It sounds like you have a thing against us and this is our last post here. One more thing..The weight is super light, WILL NOT scratch your guitars as they will be fully protected with coating and rubber, Price is higher because it's more of an Art thing (but some don't see it for that) and that's alright. Being different than everyone else is OK. The right click thing is exactly as stated..just a minor thing to add because we have been robbed of all copyright pics in the past. I know how easy it is to take them from source code, but I did not mean to piss anyone off by doing so?.... Major artists have no problems with our work and neither do Dealers and most consumers of our work ..." Here is my reply to his post: "If you ARE really serious about selling these things, you MIGHT consider putting photos up of the stands with the PADDING attached! What the hell did you think people would say, when you stick up photos of guitar stands that: a: Have NO padding whatsoever- and then you come along and say that they are fully padded and protected- HOW is someone supposed to know that? b. charge $175.00 (now the site says $145.00) for a guitar stand that looks like that with no padding anyone could see-(STILL an outragous price in my opinion) and even with padding, do you really think they are worth that much!?? Also, even with padding, they could still possibly hurt someone, if one fell over and someone fell directly on it. c. lets not forget the stupid aggreement on your site which just made matters worse and made whoever designed the site look idiotic! COME ON! People judged your photos by what they saw. If you wanted them to judge a finished product...then you should have PUT UP A PHOTO OF A FINISHED PRODUCT! To me, your product not only is too expensive, but dangerous. Those are two points that need to be addressed." IF this guy is really serious about this, he'd be doing good to find a way to cut the price and change the design to something not as dangerous IMHO. fantasticsound
Damn, webe123... you're getting a little to obsessive about this stand. Seriously, the long and the short regarding the price is he's absolutely within his bounds to create workable art, which by definition means the price will be based more on its' artistic value than its' practical value (based on the industry norms). $175 is far from out of line for a piece of sculpture. For a simple guitar stand that would, of course, be a complete ripoff. But not for art. As for the rest, I'm uncertain what the fuss is about... Are the pics on his site of an unfinished piece, sans padding? Were you upset because he ran some interference by disabling right click to download pics of the product? Seems like you're way to invested in knocking him down for selling art as a guitar stand. C'mon... you don't have to buy it, webe123. (Frankly, I find it hideously ugly and would never buy one, but I do know of other practical art I'd like to buy if I could afford the substantial extra dollars those products cost over the non-art alternative. A Bugatti supercar, for example. ) It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
The Thrashole
I don't see what the big deal is. a lot of singers are having custom mic stands fabricated for them, hell Jonathan Davis has one that would be just as hazardous. I would probably own one excpet I could make on e for a lot less and i am a better welder than what I saw in the pics. Reach out and grab a clue.
