LeftyBlues
...than FINALLY learning a lick you've been listening to over and over and over, 'till you think you'll go insane? I've tried on and off to get the intro to "Reconsider Baby" on Clapton's CD "From the Cradle" and last night it finally clicked. I'm sure to alot of you that's not a difficult lick, but to me it's like climbing Mt. Everest. Surely does feel good to finally nail it! Bruce I was born at night but I wasn't born last night... NMcGuitar
That is a great feeling. There was one lick in Steely Dan's "Reelin' in the Years" that I simply could not get. I worked and worked and worked on it. Then one day, for some unknown reason, I played it starting with an upstroke instead of a downstroke. The thing rolled off my fingers like I had been playing it my whole life. I think I could have just about walked on air when that happened.
