Prague
I saw a showing of the new Yes DVD (in limited theaters). Afterwards a live satellite feed had the band play some songs acoustically. Steve Howe is phenominal as ever. His 1st good guitar was a new '64 ES-175D. He still plays it on tours! It is in mint condition. Only he, Chuck Berry, and Wes Montgomery have ever played it (doesn't look like I'll have a turn!). He had an acoustic damaged once and has never let the 175 out of his sight since during transport. He had to buy a separate ticket on occassion and used the name Mr. Gibson. No one hassled him if he did it this way. They played a live tune where he did some bottleneck. He pulled out a full pedigree Dobro in mint condition. It had "that" killer tone, too. They go on tour in early April. Catch Howe in action and see how a guitarist actually uses 7 or more different guitars with ease. He really does apply himself to his craft.
