Compact Diss
On which do you spend the most time? Surfing the web. Playing/practicing your gui tar. Be Honest!
Sylver
More guitar. It's used to be the other way around, but I changed it. I hope I'm not relapsing, though. Hmmmm, nope, I'm gonna log off and play the Sierra. I really don't know what to put here.

NMcGuitar
Sadly, I spend more time on the web. Some of that is because I can surf the net at work, but it's extremely rare that I can practice my guitar at work. Caevan O’Shite
I go back and forth; probably more on the 'net, more often. There're times when I don't play for a couple of weeks or so, then there are times I hate to put my guitar down to do anything! While I do try to watch the better channels on my cable box, I spend more time online. Besides, the Underdogs website rules. More games than I could ever play in my lifetime... I still make time for my geetar n basses though. Much easier for me with the comp for some reason than the tv. sevenstring.org profile my flickr page
ihategarybettman
Like the other posters, it plays out like this: At work: more surf, less guitar. At home: no surf, more guitar.

pauldil
I also surf mostly from work, but when I have the time, I also try and practice at work without a guitar. I have Band-in-a-box installed on my laptop and it has an ear training feature that plays and lets you identify either chords or intervals. Its pretty cool in that you can try and guess either basic chords (maj, maj7, min, min7, dom, m7b5, sus, etc.) or more challenging ones (b9, #9, b5b9, #11, etc), as well as intervals either ascending or descending and within one octave or wider. Whenever I have a few minutes, I put on my headphones and use one of those tools. I also have Fretboard Warrior, which is a timed game where it shows the guitar fretboard and highlights a note. I see how many notes I can identify in 2 minutes. Not that I need to learn where the notes are, but its fun to try and beat my high score. I also keep a rhythm book at work by Luis Belson that I use to count rhythms, which helps my reading. Paul

Dave da Dude
Sadly, even though I've been home for seven months now, I surf much more than I practice. It kinda' sucks not being able to practice through the amps. I made the mistake of tickin' off the wife with my practice (thru amps) when she was sleepin' a coupla' times. Then when she had gotten up after the last time, I pulled the final boner. I had my cheesey DOD FX-55C Distortion pedal hooked up to try it out. I had the Master Volume at about 3, the amp main power at 1/3 and Distortion settings around 7. When I cut the distortion on the gain musta' jumped 'bout 36 dB with tons of hum! She freaked I'm moving the amps to the other end of the house by the weekend. MAYBE then I'll get more practice in. And maybe I'll play like Jimi and EC all rolled into one Dave the Slacker Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need". Danzilla
Guilty as charged. Like the guy who SHOULD love Gary Betterman, I surf the net at work , but can't play guitar there; play guitar at home (but still not enough) and rarely surf at home. DanG
Like I said somewhere else on this forum, 2hrs max per day, I have a dial up that shuts down after 2hrs so I have to dial-up again. I have to practice and teach (lesson plans etc), rehearse and be with my lady and friends.. The internet is great but very addictive. This forum can be VERY addictive, and there so much stuff that I wanna do that does not involve going online, and it will get in the way if I don't monitor the amount of time on it. But there are alot of very decent people on hear, so I raise my mug of tea to you all!
