Dave da Dude
The cover of the VCT and DVD show the daughter holding a TeleSonic, and when her band is practiicing, she's "playing" a TeleSonic. Any chance the music is really being played with a Telesonic? It sounds a little different than anything I've heard before. BTW, the movie's not bad, we're 'bout half way through it. Jamie Curtis is still hot. Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".
nonfcomm
I will preface my comments with the fact that I am cynical and think almost all hollywood movies are terrible. Mike Gug
Whenever I think of Jamie, I can't shake the strip scene in "True Lies". YEAH, BABY! Mmmm.... Mikegug www.facebook.com/theresistancemusic
dohhhhh6
Yeah, my band's guitarist was like, "This is so stupid! When the solo happens she's at the 3rd fret when she should be on the twelfish on the high E!" It's a movie folks! Still gotta see this one. BiC
Also, see if you can notice this in the movie: Some of the guitars that are auctioned near the end of the movie are different from the ones that were shown in the dude's apt. For example: There's a black and white strat that was in the apt, but was not up for auction. I only noticed this one because I was looking for a guitar that looked like mine. I'm sure there are others. Just a small "blooper". But I thought the music in the movie was pretty cool with some good riffs. Dave da Dude
Daniel, Freaky Friday is not that bad of a movie if you don't mind the lack of a plot, realistic characters, or any other value... Tell me somethin' I don't know. It was good quality family time, and there was always Jamie Curtis. And, Mike, yes; the strip scene in "True Lies" was awesome. I just saw it a day or two ago. Even my wife likes the scene (for different reasons). The original question; Is the TeleSonic used in any of the recordings? I got the credits at the end. Now if I can only find the scrap of paper on my desk .... Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".
Teahead
I know that Fender have sound samples of the Telesonic on their site. If you trust your ears enough Dave maybe you could compare and contrast? Pedal Clips

If you trust your ears enough Dave maybe you could compare and contrast? I forgot they had sound samples now, it's been so long (8 months?) since I've heard sound out of my computer. I trust my ears. Now if I can just get this &%$$^* computer sound to work. BTW, my wife was the first one (two days ago) to mention how hot Jamie Curtis still looked. revorhythm
This is funny cuz revolead and i were just watchin it and realized the nit picky things only a guitarist could find in the movie. like the whole "playin" part, or the fact that she plays through a fender, with marshall tone, and then in the house of blues the mom plays through a marshall. interesting. but yeah revolead and i were tryin to figure out what the guitar the tele was, then at work i was flippin through my bro's old guit players, and one of them had the telesonic in it. oh and sorry im 16 so i was leaning mnore towards lindsey lohan, shes more , well, my age. hot girls, fast cars, and even louder guitars
Dave da Dude
revorythm 'n revolead, Oh yeah. LOTS of things to pick on around the guitar "playing". Ther always is. I try not to look, except once in the beginning to confirm the actor(ess) is not really playing. Otherwise it distracts me, if not just plain p*&^%$*sses me off. Wasn't Lindsey Lohan (mom in her body) playin' the TeleSonic on stage? Or was that somethin' else? What was Jamie Curtis (daughter in her body) playin' off stage? It looked like some kinda' Ibanez. I was just hopin' that I might get a "listen to" of the TeleSonic, of course the guitar playing part of the movie was incidental and unrealistic. The first scene, in the garage, where Lindsey had the TeleSonic, did sound different. I was thinking that it might have really been the TeleSonic, played by someone else of course. BTW, the TeleSonic is a mahogany Body & Neck with a 24 3/4" scale, so it might sound like a Gibson LP, not sure about it soundin' like a Marshall though As far as Jamie Lee Curtis vs. Lindsey Lohan, I'd feel too much like a perv with Lindsey, so I'll have to stick with "The Crypt Keeper". BTW, additional musical info about the movie; damn! I lost that piece of paper again, maybe later. Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need". revolead
To clear up everything: Yes, Lindsey Lohan (Mom in daughters body) is playing the Telesonic on stage through a '65 Reissue Super Reverb. (Why would Disney buy originals?) The tone defintely sounds Marshall. Jamie Lee Curtis (daughter in mom's body) is playing an Ernie Ball Musicman through a Marshall in the background. Didn't catch what kind it was, othe than it's not a vintage, and it looked like either a JCM 800, 900, or 2000. Probably just a DSL if its a 2000. Wow I'm a guitar dork to get all that after watching the movie once. (Slicks hair back)Sweet. And for the record. Jamie Lee Curtis is before my time. And Lindsey Lohan still seems young to me. Even though she's only a year or so younger. I just remember watching her in Parent Trap. -Rev Shut up and play.

Dave da Dude
I was trying to find out something about the REAL musicians that did the music and whatinstruments they used when I stumbled accross this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0322330/board/nest/3348278 It's good for a chuckle as a bunch of non-musician types debate how "real" the Amanda character was and what type of music her band played. Get a life! BTW, the group may not be Forty Foot BAND, the screen was a little fuzzy (or maybe it was my eyes? ) by then, but it was definetly Forty Foot somethin'. I haven't been able to find anything yet. Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".
