I went to 4 music stores yesterday, checking out guitars. The finish I liked the best was found on the back of a Gretsch "Jet" Model. The front was a high gloss black with a silverish/grey pick guard, the back was a high gloss clear over a really dark wood. This guitar is sweet !! It also had a Bigsby whammy bar. Now if they would just do a whole guitar in clear, instead of the black front, and put on a white pick guard.... hmmmmm... :)

sounds good...have to be a weekend...my day job is a nite job

Mine too. Only it rotates. My weekends are sometimes in the middle of everyone else's week.

We'll figure it out.

Mine would be some type of a sunburst finish on a flamed or quitled maple top.

Sunburst is a finish, whereas a flamed maple or quilted top isn't. :)
Ya, probably, my bad. I guess to be more specific I should've said finish, meaning color, texture, and woods. I guess by the quilted or flamed maple wood, I was refering to how the pattern and grain of the wood is amplified by the finish. I just think it looks beautiful.
Shut up and play.
