Blue Strat
Hey, I've learned a bit, and I recorded a short clip of what I'm able to do now. I'm still only using my thumb and index finger, but I can do a pretty good banjo roll. http://www.geocities.com/teleman28056/music_page.html The clip is "Fingers Only". Now, how do I work that middle finger in? BlueStrat a.k.a. Fingerstyle_Jim
Actually, you should be adding two more fingers. Most fingerstyle players use the thumb and three fingers, try this: make an E chord, play the top(bass) string with your thumb, then play the 3rd string(G#)with your index finger, then play the 2nd string(B) with the middle finger, then play the 1st string(E) with the third finger. You can find lots if info online, free at http://www.wholenote.com, once there click "lessons", if you look in the flamenco category you will find my lessons that outline this more clearly, Jim My SoundClick Page My New Music Project
fantasticsound
Doh! Wanted to hear it, Bluestrat, but your site is coming up as unavailable due to exceeded bandwidth issues.... Will this reset tommorow or is this a monthly issue? (Heck, it's only the 3rd!! ) It's easiest to find me on Facebook. It's pretty reliable. BlueStrat a.k.a. "El Guapo" ...Better fuzz through science... http://geocities.com/teleman28056/index.html
fantasticsound
Sounds like you're getting the hang of it. Now find a tab of "Dust In The Wind" with notes. (I can find it in my old GFTPM magazines if you can't find it online.) The pattern is pretty easy. It's all in the touch. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Rim
Very nice, bluestrat. Look up Travis picking (I think it's called). Grab a guitar tab of Simon and Garfunkel stuff for good and fairly easy f-pickin stuff. aka riffing Double Post music: Strip Down http://rimspeed.com http://loadedtheband.com
Dave da Dude
Rim, Very nice, bluestrat. Look up Travis picking (I think it's called). Grab a guitar tab of Simon and Garfunkel stuff for good and fairly easy f-pickin stuff. Yeah, S & G a 'pickin'. Cooool That kinda' stuff is what my ex-instructor (I moved) used to call "fakin' it". For S & G, I don't think so. Try "Sounds of Silence" with that F and then Dm chord. Or is that Dm and then F? I forget, but its got Dm, C and F. Can't remember the other chords. If you can't find them , I have my old S & G songbook that has it in it (with a bunch of markups). I'd be glad to send it to you. Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".
