Funk Jazz
seems like a disto pedal is the obvious solution, unless you want the straight amp sound. .

Caevan O’Shite
You should re-post this on Myles' "Feel free to ask Myles" thread, to get a quicker response from him (he's pretty busy). If you "highlight" everything in your first post with a mouse-swipe, and right-click on the highlighted portion and select "copy", you can then post a reply on the "Feel free"-thread and right-click on the blank page and select "paste" to do this easily, without retyping the whole thing. You should also download Myles' "Tube Primer", parts one and two. And check out his website; I haven't digested all of either of these yet myself! Lots of good info. You can probably accomplish what you want with a few different tubes, both pre's and outputs. Blue Strat
From what I've read about the Nomad, it is a very high gain amp. There are three channels, one clean, one classic, and one high-gain. The high-gain channel is insane, according to the article I read in Guitar Player (I think). Maybe it's just the tone and not really the gain? The Mesa Dual Rectifier has a really scooped midrange that maybe the Nomad can't do. For that, I'd try using an EQ pedal in front of the amp or in the effects loop. Make the sliders look like a smile, with the mid's at the lowest point you can get them at. BlueStrat a.k.a.
