Philip OKeefe
I just posted a little survey over on the Collaboration Corner... I'd really appreciate it if you'd all take a moment to hop over there and give me some feedback. Thanks!
Caevan O’Shite
Here's a link to that thread for ya, Mr. O'Keefe! For everyone's convenience. Man, that's a hard call to make, and my answers would partly depend upon the style of the given hypothetical project. If I can ever decide, I'll post on there! Blue Strat
The only guys I've heard are James - from Italy, and Denny F. Both of these guys are great and can really play. Just don't ask James for his take on Angus Young! BlueStrat a.k.a. Philip OKeefe
Thanks guys... Tedster, feedback CAN be musical... I've used it more than a few times. But yours is messing up the page formatting. Boy, everyone's stuck on the genre / style issue. Okay, I guess I can understand that... I was originally trying NOT to limit anything to a single "style" and instead looking for all around great studio cats, but that may be asking for a bit too much. So maybe I'll pick a single general, broad genre - say, "powerpop"? Caevan, thanks for the link! I should have done that meself lad, but I guess I was just a wee bit lazy. strat0124
Well to me when folks think of best this and best that, its always subjective. Very often bluegrass pickers, country pickers, and the like get overlooked in favor of the guys who play like the Vai/Johnson/Yngwie group. I'll hold judgement....... Down like a dollar comin up against a yen, doin pretty good for the shape I'm in
Philip OKeefe
Absolutely - there's great players in a wide range of genres. And it's not always about notes per second in my opinion. Maybe I should change the question to "please tell me some Musicplayer members who have impressed you with their music / performances, and describe their style". That would do away with the whole competitive thing.
