Tedster
Sigh... The Object of My Desire... I've wanted a Talman since they first came out...the retro-phonkay look...and they're so dang INEXPENSIVE on eBay... Somebody talk me out of doing something stupid...or talk me into it. I don't care, either one... "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

Gabriel E.
That's $250 that was going to get wasted on taxes, booze or car maintenance anyway. Better to spend it on a guitar. Do it. And it's got wunna dem whammy-stick-shakers onnitt!! I kinda think that you should get it, and then build that other "top secret" (not so secret) "Route 66" project "down the road". Oh, and that Artcore Talman that lynng' referred to, with that link- it sure reminds me of what a single-cut Fender Starcaster woulda looked like! Waddyall thank? doc taz
Damnit, I be fooken po. I played a Hamer Slammer guitar. Some model that looked like an OPL version of the Peavey Wolfgang. Vintage trem, 2 humbuckers, 2 volumes, 22 frets and one tone knob. Sounds like a cross between a Les Paul but with a little jazzy high end. $250 at the Metropolis Music store in Jersey City. Made me nearly cream my pants! Same for the Strat copy with DiMarzio Virtual vintage Strat pickups... that was $600, though, but if I had the $$$, I'd easily buy it over a Highway one. The Strat tone I love, with NO NOISE! I can crank the gain, and it stays Stratty all the way. Me becomeing richitie yngve blackmoor malmster... I'm helping with dinner tonight, so I'll post more details about that one later. sevenstring.org profile my flickr page
Dave da Dude
Gabriel, That's $250 that was going to get wasted on taxes, booze or car maintenance anyway. Better to spend it on a guitar. Not to mention other silly things like food and mortgage. Tedster, I hope you didn't expect any pleas for restraint were going to be forthcoming from this group. As a somewhat experienced e-bayer (groan), some advice. I've been following all the guitars I so desperately want, but can't afford, and have noticed some trends. On a guitar like this, that isn't exactly "main stream", it may not sell at all. Wait 'til the end and you'll likely get it for $250! Then you could get the one on Musician's Friend too! If I can't buy what I want, let me live vicariously through your purchases. DAve Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need". Tedster
An hour and a half left.
