Here are most of them. My 12 stringer is downstairs, the mando in it's case & a couple of other projects are in the garage.

It seems to only happen with yahoo hosted pics. They might not allow images to be posted elsewhere (tripod did this too I think). As soon as I get webspace, I'll put mine up too :D .

Hey Dave, I think you click the image button beside the gremlin faces and type the URL in there to enter the picture into your post. I shall try this here...

Not exactly a guitar close up! I'll work on getting my own stuff here soon, hope this helps, best wishes, Tea.

The pics in my post above are hosted on Yahoo Photos. Does anyone know of a free website host that allows direct linking to pics? I might make an annex to my site if I can find more free space.

Bluestrat, I think you CAN still link to the picture page. Are you using the briecase?

Other than that, Portland Communications has a free, no banner or pop up site available but you do need to have a registered domain name or purchase through them. It's only 10mb with ,I think, 100mb bandwidth, but for a few pictures it would do fine. I have three low bandwidth, low space requiring sites there. The uptime is ok.

Portland Communications.

Mike you gotta have a web site available. Your internet service provider will probably have a 5mb space available for a personal web page that would work for a few pics.

Yep, that's what I'm using, I think. If you go to Yahoo's main page and click on Photos in the list of links below the search line, the page I'm using will come up.

I know that I can link to the page, but I really would rather post the pictures on the forum. Geocities prevents that, and I'm not sure the pictures above will stay there because Yahoo and Geocities are one and the same. :(

Where'd you get the wall mounts and how much did they cost? Are they sturdy enough for solid body electrics?

I got the mounts at CARVIN for ten bucks. That brand, STRING SWING also comes with a nice wooden mounting plate for three bucks more. I have plans to get a few more. It's nice to keep the guitars off the floor.

They will support a solid body electric just fine if you make sure to mount to a wall stud. I wouldn't trust wall board or lath & plaster to hold the weight, even with my acoustics.

I've used swivel hangers on quality pegboard for years, hanging LPs, Strats, jumbo Guild acoustic, mando's, etc., with zero problems. The nice thing about the pegboard approach is that you can rearrange the hangers easily has the collection (hopefully) grows or (God forbid) shrinks.

Here's one place with a lot of hangers: http://www.stairwaytokevin.com.au/dept.asp?deptid=260

I've not dealt with them, but I can't remember where I bought my hangers (it was mailorder). I bought the swiveling ones so the guitars could be angled (more "guitars per foot" that way).

Once you mount the pegboard securely, you've got a flexible wall o' mounting spots!

OK Gang, I found a couple of spots, one for images & the other an alternative to Portland Communications.

FOR IMAGES!

FREE WEB HOST

Hewlett Packard has a photo site too but you may have to have registered a camera or other photo item to get that service.

I just took another look at Host Rocket. It is a subdomain so it's really not quite like Portland. It looks like a great service, similar to what geocities & tripod were when they first started but without the banner or popup ads. The URL would read something like this: http://lookatme.hostrocket.com

If I were just starting to look for web presence I'd go there in a heartbeat and may still transfer a couple of sites I have for friends on tripod. That will get rid of the popups. HA! DAMNED POPUPS! I GOT YOU NOW!!!!

New toy I bought yesterday:

Very budget model, but it sounds great for just strumming around on. Never owned an acoustic before :)

Gato,

It shows the first three pictures, then no more, even if I right-click and select "show picture".

Cool collection

Why is the 1992 Gibson LP Standard a poor substitute for the 1991 Gibson LP Classic? Is it because its not as pretty, doesn't sound as good, or just that my Spanish is that poor?

Dave

Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".

I would like to get a classical acoustic, steel-string acoustic, Gretsch hollowbody (prefer that brand, but if I must.. a ripoff)... and something like a Gibson Gothic w/ standard Les Paul design or a dark guitar w/ humbuckers with SG or LP style body.

Parker Nitefly SA with a GK2. Heavily modified old Yamaha strat copy.

Schechter C1-Plus

not pictured are a new Ibanez JetKing (JTK-1), an old Marina Strat Copy (peaking out behind the deluxe, actually), and my first axe - a 3/4 size Kalamazoo electric that I bought for $10 at a neighbor's garage sale 20 years ago... much to his regret ;)

There are a couple that didn't make it in the pic...a green Washburn acoustic, an old Harmony Stratotone, a Yamaha classical, and a Hamer "Slammer" P-Bass copy.
