daddy ray
i reciently obtained a dunlop cry baby, s.n.c8070292, which has a couple of problems: an intermittant "open" which cuts my signal to the amp. excessive (i feel) hiss when i am not playing. also, i would like to incorporate an ac addaptor in this thing. i emailed dunlop with this and got nothing in return other than an emphatic statement that it is not their current model & no appearant interest in helping. can anyone help? i love the tone of it & really would like to get this sorted out so i can use it. thank you. have fun now! whatever the mind of man can concieve & believe it can achieve! study it as a science/practice it as an art! luck...that's what happens when preparation & opportunity intersect properly percieved every situation becomes an opportunity

Is there a model number? If it's an older model, the carbon resistors could be a cause of noise, or bad caps, etc. Reheat all of the solder joints and add some fresh solder to each connection before you do anything else. That will cure some problems like cold solder joints. How many transistors are on the board? The original Crybaby and Vox Wahs had only two transistors, the newer GCB-95 has three.
