Dicky (or dickie) Dale did alot of that music. He also invented the back of the strat cut out dealy. I'd search for dick dale. He did the pulp fiction theme.

Jamie love surf music!

The Surfaris did Wipe Out and Surfer Joe.

Louie Louie was done by the Kingsmen (what a solo).

Apache was by the Shadows an English band.

I think Tequila was the Champs but its been covered so much it's hard to say.

Pipeline was by the Chantays.

Walk Don't Run was a Johnny Smith tune covered by the Ventures twice the second time in 1964.

All these have been covered so much that it's hard to keep track.

Dick Dale and the Deltones were the seminal surf music band to me though.

Jamie

But never fear, you're safe with me... Well maybe. - Les

All those were done or covered by the Surfaris.

Walk Dont Run, Pipeline, Tequila and Apache were big by the Ventures though the Chantays may have been a bit bigger on Pipeline. I had the album by by the Ventures that it was on.

Louie Louie was indeed the Kingsmen but another good cover was by Paul Revere and the Raiders among a bunch of others.

DD's big hit - "Rumble".

Note the black & white sticker on the body of his git. Then check old Elvis pics & see the same sticker on his instrument.

Spooooky, eh?

Yup, that was the Champs -- a group named after a horse (Gene Autry's, I believe), and featuring a young guitar player by the name of Glen Campbell.

May all your thoughts be random!

Glenn cambell played with the Champs, but after Tequila was recorded. He also played on Frank sinatra's Fly Me To The Moon!
