JW1970
Hi Myles (and all): I've been offered a Supro Bantam as part of a trade. I know some Supros are pretty cool little tube amps. I can't find any info on the Bantam though and would have to do this trade sight unseen/unheard. Wondering if you can offer, or point me to, any information? Thanks in advance! Gabriel E.
Supro amps were usually well made (I think they were built by Valco but I might be wrong). The Supro Twin 12 is a sought after amp. That Bantam is probably worth it for a couple hundred $$. Looks like it's single-ended class A amp like a Fender Champ. Real simple circuit with a tube rectifier. Not too versatile but I bet it sounds good. Plus it's red! "You never can vouch for your own consciousness." - Norman Mailer
JW1970
Thanks guys. I might take a chance on the trade then. Sounds like it should be cool as I'm told it's in great condition.

It didn't work at the time but I had a guy at work look at it and he fixed it up for me. It's a bass amp but it sounds decent with a guitar and it breaks up nicely when cranked. I don't use it much since it's only got a 2 pronged plug and I'm afraid to fry my ass while playing it.
Gabriel E.
Note that any amp that old will need to have the electrolytic capacitors replaced. Having a 3-prong plug installed is also HIGHLY recomended. It's an easy install.
