DanielT
I really like having coil tap switches on my humbuckers. It's something akin to having four pickups on the guitar.
michael saulnier
I think one of the biggest innovations is the improvements and refinements to the manufacturing process... CNC machines can make PERFECT necks... anywhere in the world. And cut perfect bodies and so on... There's never been a bigger selection of choices of guitars and guitar makers. Imported guitars are plentiful, often well made, and inexpensive... and yet there are still very strong sales of higher end US made guitars as well. There are decent guitars available for $200 or less, and great playing and sounding guitars for $500 or so... and huge numbers of high end guitar makers offering everything from PRIMO versions of classic strats to totally custom designs. It's actually pretty hard to FIND a really bad guitar anymore... at least in the music stores, because there's almost no market for them. There's also never been such a big AFTERMARKET set of parts, information and pro help to change your guitar into something more... including complete kits you can build yourself. I think it's cool to have so many choices! guitplayer I'm still "guitplayer"! Check out my music if you like... http://www.michaelsaulnier.com
