Wewus432 Posted June 30, 2003 Posted June 30, 2003 Olmer, I didn't have time to read this whole thread, but now that you've been presented, I'd like to nominate you for King Of The Internet. If elected will you serve?

Blue Strat Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 Well, as you can see, my photo isn't appearing as it should. I'm not sure if it's too big or it's the wrong file type. It's around 175 pixels square and it's a .jpg file. I might be sans-avitar for a while until I figure this one out. BlueStrat a.k.a. Beermouse Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 Damn. I was hoping my PC was just messed up and that someone else out there in Internet-land would find my use of all-caps funny. Guess I screwed the pooch.
Wewus432 Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 That was funny. Sometimes you just have to know without being told, though. I've found that if it's funny to me, it's usually funny to someone else. For more info in this subject send $9.99 for a copy of my book How To Say Funny Shit On The Internet. See, that's not very funny, BUT, I knew that.

Antilamer Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Hi Olmer and others! Olmer, nice to meet a neighbour, I'm also from St.-Petersburg! Don't you participate in guitarplayer.ru? About the question about if someone knows Russian bands. I think you guys understand it even without me but just to make sure: Tatu is the one of the worst of russian bands that have the right to be called bands but not 'a company of drunken fools who have found a broken guitar in the street and found out that if you pick strings they sound, and one can sing accompanying oneself with it' There are, of course, really talented artists but their music is too complex for the majority, I think it's the same not only in Russia... Actually I don't know much about rock bands but if to speak about persons, In Russia there are not one and not two guitarists that can play not worse than Paco de Lucia. For instance, Dmitry Illarionov... Maybe me in future ))) Hope I have a chance, I think playing Aranjuez (of course, the full scores and not all the shitty tabulatures found in the Internet) after a year of studying is not so bad.... Well, I gotta go.. see ya Keep cool!

James-Italy Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Actually us guys from St. Pete (FL) started this rumour to keep all those beautiful girls in all to ourselves. Funny to think that even though I've been gone over 12 years now, the rumour is still rampant. Guess it worked! My Gear My Attempts at Music

NMcGuitar Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 It's probably just me, but every time I see the topic line of this thread, I hear the Ramones in the back of my head ("I Wanna Be Sedated"). May all your thoughts be random! - Neil www.McFaddenArts.com www.MikesGarageRocks.com
Wewus432 Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 That's weird man, I hear an Alice Cooper song called "I Wanna Be Elected".
Antilamer Posted July 6, 2003 Posted July 6, 2003 Olmer: Emm..hmm..mmm...well, I'm a 16-year-old guy who has just finished the best physic-mathematic school in St.-Petersburg (if not in Russia and not the world: two my friends have won the Russian first Mathematics and second Physics contests). Olmer, maybe you know this school. It is the one connected with Alfyorov . About my hobbies. If physics, maths and programming were not my hobbies, I wouldn't finish this school. Of course, if playing guitar were not also one of my hobbies I wouldn't play it 28 July, 2002 I took my first guitar lesson. I think I shall never regret about it Now I am playing guitar about 4-6 hours a day (at least, trying to do so, and sometimes it works ) I would play flamenco if I could and if I had enough scores; I am going to do so but now I play mostly guitar classics - a lot of Bach and a lot of different other composers. My favourite contemporary composers are Koshkin and Rak. By the moment all the flamenco scores I tried to play either were too easy and not very beautiful or contained passages with 12765347632514 notes per second that I can't play now By the way, it would be great if someone posted here a link to some page where they tell about flamenco, for instance, about how to play rosgeo correctly - fast and even (eh... if only I were Paco de Lucia.. ) What I have reached in the year I am studying guitar: At the moment I am learning Bach's Violin sonatas 1,2; Morel's Misionera, Aranjuez, Moreno-Torroba's Castillian suite, Piazzolla's Muerte del Angel. Trying to play the Flight of the Bumblebee but the original tempo 180 is about too fast for me, only 130-140 is OK. Not too bad, as far as I am concerned Well. I think that's enough See ya! Keep cool!
