Caevan O'Shite
Well, they're not "kits", but you might find the parts you need at Warmoth; they make some Les Paul-ish bodies and necks that are bolt-on affairs, routed for whatever your pickup, control, and hardware needs are. Go to http://www.warmoth.com/ to scope'em out; contact them with any specific questions. They might be able to package up what you need for a fair price. Their quality is second to none, and they sometimes have bodies and necks that aren't normal "stock" items for discounted prices. (These are "experiments", custom orders someone bailed on, unusual woods that they came into, and the like.) A 25.5"-scale, seven-string Les Paul Junior-style with dual humbuckers would be most bitchin', don'tcha think? -k Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _

I know what you mean, I put over $800 into the 12-string I recently build. Here's a bad PRS wanta-be kit: http://www.jklutherie.com/Instruments_Electric.html but for $199, it's probably a POS It just gets pricy to buy quality parts in single lot quantity.
