Hello everybody!

Recommended Posts

Hi all :)

I just wanted to introduce myself on the forum.

the hard facts :)

32 years old, living in denmark, i have played guitar for 16 or 17 years now... mainly blues.

I enjoy reading this forum, many interesting insights into the wonderfull world of guitars :)

Equipment... (if you want to know :D )

Fender squire strat (from 1985 with a lot of mods)

G&L telecaster (japanese version that you cant buy anymore)

K. Yairi folk/blues smallbody acoustic.

Fender vibrochamp amp (heavely modified)

some other stuff like pedals.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for the reply´s :)

Nmcguitar you asked about the mods... they are many ;)

The squire strat has been refrettet with extrajumbo size frets (dunlop 6100 like srv style)

pickups from an old jv squire strat, the brigde has been rewound to be hotter by a famous danish guitar builder (jhonny mørch) it was broken anyway so... new nut, pickguard from jv squire, graphtech and vintage fender bridge pieces (three of each for bass and treble strings, as i continiously was breaking my high e when bending)... i think thats it apert from small adjustments and stuff to make it play right. It sounds really good.

The vibrochamp has been modified with different tubes (it has a lot more output now) and a different speaker 10" i think. It is really loud and it just sings with natural tube overdrive.

I normally push it with a tube screamer or a blues driver.

Regards

Michael

Sounds like you've got your axe modded-out pretty well. Amp too.

When do we get to hear a sample of it?

May all your thoughts be random!

Welcome, Lund! Of course, the official welcome wagon, TEDSTER, hasn't checked in yet, but I'm sure he will shortly.

Hey Rim! We don't want no VA trash posting in here! ;)

Lund: I'd be interested to hear any additional info about the Champ. I'm in the market for one myself and I need to start educating myself. Thanks!

None more black.

WELCOME

Or in the Southern venacular (I'm from the North, damned Yankee), "Hey y'all."

TuskBuffer is right, this is a GREAT Forum. They were even willing to answer my dumb questions when I (really) started learing about electric guitar 1.5 years ago. I'm an old (57 yoa) Folk player trying to learn new tricks. :D

BTW, TuskBuffer is much too modest to toot his own horn (yet). But his Wolly Mammoth picks may be the cheapest mod you ever make to your playing style. Expensive as a pick ($20?), but cheap as an overall change of sound. See the separate thread about this.

Again, welcome to the Forum. You don't have to be cazy to post here, ... but it helps. :D

Dave

Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".

Glad to have you here, Lund. And I already have a question...

WHY the jumbo frets? I've always wanted to know what the attraction is.

Whitefang

I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

Wow thanks for all the reply´s :)

FIrst regarding the vibrochamp it has a new speaker its called Celestion G10S-50 but it kind of looks like a 12"... the inside of the amp is completely filled up, and it has a very large magnet, it sounds sweet. It has new tubes but i dont know what they are exept for a GT 6v6GTA tube. I did not do the mod, it was done by a guy who had a musicshop in my hometown... he worked together with some ampguru on it.

The fretssize is because it facilitates stringbending... i hate the small frets on vintage fender guitars, because your fingers touch the wood making it harder to bend... also the sound is clearer to me. Vibrato is also easier,,, and it looks great

Thanks again guys.

Man, if I could do THAT, I'd never leave the house!

But his Wolly Mammoth picks may be the cheapest mod you ever make to your playing style.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments! How's yours holding up?

You've got the best guitar

You've got the best amp

Now get the best pick!
