dougsthang
Not sure if anyone is doing this already.. Since I'm by myself in my studio it's laborious to find opitmal mic placements for my amps. I thought about using my looper through the amp I'm trying to mic. That way I can put the guitar down and work with the mic placement with headphones on. Once I find a sweet spot I can check it through the monitors... maybe it's an old trick I just thought of... wait a minute what if we just feed the mayo to the tuna...oh that's good, get Starkist on the line... overheard street personality on Venice Beach "Man, that Bullshit is Bulllshhittt...." Caevan O'Shite
Sounds like a great idea, 'sthang'! I never heard of this for mic placement, but similar re-amping to re-record through diff amps, cabs, rooms, at diff volumes, etc. has been done, as well as for a type of 'verb and delay effect. I'm gonna remember your idea, but I'll always give you credit for it! -k Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
KARL FISHER
dougsthang', that's one of those DAAH, why did'nt I think of that. I always just stick the mic in front of the cab, and sometimes the recording sounds much better than others. I'll try that for the sweet spot as well (you can have the credit). GOOD IDEA!! Prague
I always move a mic around while monitoring through headphones. Start with a general rule but then find the sweet spot. Leave it there and add more mics to find other spots, too.
