Tedster
At the risk of sounding even more stupid than usual, anyone know a good guitar approach to this tune? I haven't sat down and tried to figure it out yet, but, I've a suspicion that Mr. Crosby used some sort of open tuning on it, and the fingerpicking pattern is quite unusual in that 6/8 feel. Anyone got any pointers? It kinda sounds like two separate guitars playing counterpoint or something... "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
sbrock1san.rr.com
I found a site that recommended the tuning EBDGAD for "Deja Vu". Try it and see if it makes sense. What a great, great album that is.

Tedster
The tuning clinched it. If what I'm doing is right (and I'd need to dig out the album and put it on to be able to tell)...it's like way too easy. Embarrassingly so. And the two open D strings give it that almost 12 string sounding vibe. Thanks. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
sbrock1san.rr.com
Great. I'll have to try that tuning myself and see what I come up with. Tedster- I see your new Jack Nickleson avatar. If you are a fan of his, you've got to see his latest movie "About Schmitt" if you haven't already. It's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time and one of Jack's best IMHO. Dave da Dude
Hey, Thanks from me too. I've got the sheet music (somewhere), but I didn't see (can't find right now) a different tuning. I could always "play it", but it never sounded quite right, although on the 12=String it was closer. Dave Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need".
