ridger
What brand of guitars do the guitarist with ZZ Top or Lynyrd Skynyrd primarily play? In videos I've seen, they look like Les Pauls, but I'm not sure. I guess it depends on what sound they're after. Thanks.
strat0124
Everything you can think of. From Deans to Gibsons to Fenders to ESP's. They don't have to pay for them so they get and play alot of different brands. Billy Gibbons is famous for the Les Paul, but you'd be surprised what other brands he uses. Down like a dollar comin up against a yen, doin pretty good for the shape I'm in

michael saulnier
Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top is well known for his love of Les Pauls... all the early albums feature them or Telecasters... very early on he used a "no caster" or "broadcaster"... early version of the Telecaster. He's got LOT's of guitars now. But still uses LP's sometimes. There are three guitarists in Lynyrd Skynyrd's lineup. In the original group one guy played a Les Paul, (and used an SG for the slide on Free Bird), another used Gibson Explorer, and the third mostly a Strat or a Les Paul Custom. guitplayer I'm still "guitplayer"! Check out my music if you like... http://www.michaelsaulnier.com
