DC
Hey guys. I've been after a best buddy of mine for years to sell me his Black Face Vibro Champ and he's finally done it. He's a basic player but never gigged for a living like me. He ended up getting it for free back in 1977 when cleaning out a barn and the property owner said just take it. It's in really good shape except for some tolex coming up on the bottom corners. I played some through it yesterday and it sounds great! Really cool low volume tone. Gonna record it soon. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse

strat0124
Cool amp. I love those little giant killers. I just fixed a little twenty watt PTP Princeton Reverb II at the store. Smokin amps. I'm looking for a Champ myself, Super, Vibro, whatever I can find. But I ain't gonna be a goofball and pay out the nose for it. People do though. Down like a dollar comin up against a yen, doin pretty good for the shape I'm in
Lee Flier
I had a Blackface Vibro Champ, but sold it to our old friend Ted Nightshade. It was a really cool little amp. Enjoy yours, DC!
Sylver
BASTARD! That's awsome. I hear those little things kick ass! I really don't know what to put here.
DC
Thanks Tedster, I'm sure I will. Geenard, I luckily paid about half what I see them going for on ebay. The only thing that was a bit flaky is the vibro started killing the volume when upping the intensity knob. I wiggled a tube and all was well. Could you suggest some good replacement tubes? Just two 12AX7's, a 6V6 for power and that 5Y3 rectifier. Lee, at least you know yours went to a good home. That's the way my friend saw it; he'd rather a player have it than a collector. And yeah, Sylver, it's a very cool machine. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse

Thats one of the cool bennies of having the keys to the tube cabinet! DC
Say Geenard, if I were in your neck of the woods I'd definately take you up on your offer. I've got a boatload of 12AX7s around so since it was one of those that wiggling affected the vibro circut, I'll start with switching out those guys. I'd be interested if anyone is making an above average 6V6 these days. Also, is the rectofier tube as critical to the overall sound of the amp as the pre and power tubes? -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
