I own 4 electrics, I'll talk about 3 of them. I have 2 Ibanez Musicians, one a '79 MC-300, the other a '78 MC-500. I also own a '92 Ric 360 6-string.

2) What is the set-up for the pick-ups?

The 2 Mucicians have dual HBs, each with tri-sound mini-toggles (HB/Parallel/Single). The MC-500 has active electronics, it really screams. The Ric has 2 single-coils.

3) What color is the body and the "pick guard" (I put the "pick guard" question on there because my wife and I disagree - she thinks black is classier and I feel white is classier)?

The Musicians are neck-thru - the necks are laminated maple & walnut. The body on the MC-300 is a sandwich of ash & mahogany, the MC-500 has a carved ash top with a maple center. No pick guards. The Ric is Fireglow with a white pick guard.

4) Why did you decide that this guitar was the one you should buy (ie: how did you know that this was the "one" for you)?

The Musicians I had to have from the moment I saw one for sale on Ebay - I bought them both on Ebay. I love the look of the maple neck running through a walnut colored body. I knew had to own a Ric since I was a little kid & saw the Beatles & the Byrds on TV.

5) What amp do you own for home use (ie: 25W or under)?

I primarily use a new Fender Blues Jr. at home, though I have a 1980 Pro Reverb on semi-permanent loan from a friend of mine.

6) Why did you decide to buy this model?

I bought the Blues Jr. after trying to transport the Pro Reverb to my friend's 2nd floor condo - Blues Jr. sounds great AND I can lift it.

7) If you could own any current production (ie: not specially made, one of a kind, etc.) guitar, what would it be and why?

I'm more interested in used/vintage guitars, but if I were to buy a new guitar it would probably be a Heritage 535. I'd like a bluesy hollow body - the Musicians weigh a ton (there's a theme developing here, I guess I need to start working out).

8) What type of music do you typically play?

Mostly classic rock & blues.

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

#5 Epiphone Biscuit Resonator circa 1998

#1 Yamaha FG150: Dean Markley "Sweet Spot"

All are wood grains, no paint. Pick guards are black or tortoise on the acoustics. Chrome on the Goyatone.

4) Why did you decide that this guitar was the one you should buy (ie: how did you know that this was the "one" for you)?

Played 'em or found 'em, except the mandolin. It was bought via the internet.

5) What amp do you own for home use (ie: 25W or under)?

Fender Hot Rod DeVille. 2X12 60 LOUD Watts.

6) Why did you decide to buy this model?

My son bought it.

7) If you could own any current production (ie: not specially made, one of a kind, etc.) guitar, what would it be and why?

Fender Telecaster. It's just what I want.

8) What type of music do you typically play?

Probably called Americana

Thanks. I look forward to your responses.

Well theres this kicking Hondo, strings are a bit high off the neck, but it says "made in Korea" so it must be pretty good. I put a "strapon", so I can "pickup" while standing up. I like it cause it cost $13 at Safeway. I think its solid plywood, smells like pine. Cool tricolored paint job, really love the aqua-pink-yellow burst. Does the neck supposed to be curved, you know, like a ski jump? Oh, and what kind of picks do you use???

Yo Gene .....You gotta sell me that guitar.I've been looking for one just like that. :D
